Grade I listed church, built by John Loughborough Pearson and completed in 1895. A very beautiful church, with additional furnishings from G E Street and G F Bodley, it was described by the poet John Betjeman as “one of Pearson's loveliest churches”. The church is cruciform in plan; both the nave and choir have aisles and there is an ambulatory encircling the sanctuary. Side chapels, arches, a gallery, world famous Father Willis organ. The church has an internal length of 150 ft and the nave vault is 53 ft high. There are two turrets on either side of the west window, and two stone spires.
