Grade I listed parish church, where Captain Cook married, located alongside the ruins of Barking Abbey. The chancel dates from early 1200s, the bell tower was built in 1400s and the church was finished in 1600s. The crown post roof resembles an upside down ship and the nave and chancel are intentionally not in line. White walls and pillars, dark wood pews and screens. Organ. The church centre includes a cafe and three community rooms available for hire.
