Gibson Hall

United Kingdom / London, England
Location ID: #10135959

Gibson Hall was completed in 1865 for the National Provincial Bank of England and was the greatest of the City banking halls, reflecting the classical Victorian elegance prevalent at the time. Corinthian columns in Portland stone form its magnificent facade. Gibson Hall has three spaces available: the Main Hall, the Garden Room and the Garden. The Main Hall features gleaming marble figures that run the full 118-foot length of the hall. It also features a highly ornate ceiling with three soaring glazed domes, each 30 foot in diameter; in each one a stunning crystal chandelier hangs. The Garden Room complements the imposing style of the main hall and provides a light and welcoming aspect onto the garden area. The Garden provides a green and tranquil space, in the centre of the court is a fountain that is a replica of the Donatello one in Florence's Palazzo Pitti.
