The Waldorf Hilton opened in 1908 and retains many of its luxurious Edwardian rooms complete with chandeliers and traditional decor. In 2005 and 2015, the hotel underwent multi-million pound refurbishments. As well as bars, restaurants, a fitness centre with pool, the hotel has meeting and events spaces which include the Palm Court and the main boardroom, originally the Gentleman’s smoking room and enjoys a grand fireplace and oil paintings. The Waldorf Hilton has a 190-foot curving facade made of Aberdeen granite with a frieze of cherubs depicting the arts and sciences.
