Fenchurch Street Station
United Kingdom / London, England
Location ID: #10136723
Opened in 1841, Fenchurch Street was the first railway terminus in the City of London. The present building's layout and concourse were remodelled and opened in 1935. Offices were built over the shed concourse area during the 1980s but the station frontage was retained. The segmented arch roof was carried forward to form the large curved pediment over the station facade and remains to this day. Beneath the station, in Crutched Friars Street, is a three-storey warehouse, the top of which was used as railway offices.
