Private members' club with the Art Deco swimming pool (75ft-22m) as its main feature. It has a surrounding balcony supported by huge pillars and an adjoining bar. There are three squash courts, a fencing salle and a gym. The Dining Room is a splendid example of the Art Moderne Style. The Adam Room is decorated with fine 18th Century plasterwork. Elegant Georgian ballroom with arched windows and ornate plaster ceiling, 2 curved balconies and Art Deco lightfittings. Robert Adam Building. There are 70 bedrooms, five function rooms, a dining room, three bars and the sports facilities. The Round Room is the only unaltered original room; its circular freize was painted in 1776. The treaty of American Independence was drafted here in 1783.
