Caledonian Park
United Kingdom / London, England
Location ID: #10136996
Caledonian Park began life as the original venue of the 19th Century Metropolitan Cattle Market, from which its majestic Victorian clock tower dates. The park, although still managed on a largely formal basis, has nevertheless been steadily transformed in recent years to become a haven for wildlife.Part of the amenity grassland is left to grow long in order to encourage wild flowers and insects to colonise. Other features include borders with specially chosen nectar-bearing plants where a range of butterflies may be seen.
