Forty Hall

United Kingdom / Enfield, England
Location ID: #10137144

Forty Hall is one of England 's finest historic houses, which underwent a major refurbishment, re-opening in summer 2012. The three-storey Jacobean red brick house was built between 1629 and 1632 and is set in parkland with a lake, large Cedar tree and courtyard cafe. Most of the original interiors are intact (the roof of the hall is the earliest hipped timber roof in the country) and there were some later modifications in the 18th and 19th Centuries. There is also adjacent Banqueting Suite comprising two interlinked rooms and a patio area with gardens adjoining.
