Formerly the home of Dr John Langdon Down, the property previously known as Normansfield is now owned and managed by the Langdon Down Centre Trust (LDCT). The theatre, originally built in 1877, has been beautifully restored with help from Laing Homes. The building has brick interior walls, a timber-framed roof, long gothic-arched windows on both sides and a balcony at one end of the hall, with a proscenium arch stage with gothic decoration and steps either side at the other.
