St Pancras International

United Kingdom / London, England
Location ID: #10137542

Following an £800 million architectural restoration extension, St Pancras International has been transformed into a modern, world-class terminal and a unique landmark for London. With its impressive Victorian Gothic architecture, large open concourse, sky blue roof spanning 243 ft, St Pancras International provides a truly stunning location. The station was opened in 1867 as the London terminus of the Midland Railway. The 689ft long train shed was constructed of glass and iron and described as one of the wonders of Victorian engineering. It spans 240 ft. and stands 100 ft. above the rails. Many original Victorian Gothic features have been preserved and there are cobbled street entrances under railway arches. The Rendezvous located on the upper level has a variety of restaurants, the longest Champagne Bar in Europe, Eurostar trains gliding into the Barlow Shed and iconic statues and clock. Towards the far end of the Barlow Shed are the East Midlands Trains platforms where commuters arrive and depart. A hub of station operations. The Circle has a selection of retail and hospitality outlets. The Arcade is a parade of beautiful, luxurious, boutique shops.
