Hay's Galleria
United Kingdom / London, England
Location ID: #10137562
Hay's Galleria is built over what was once Hay's Dock. The waterfronts of the wharf buildings have been reconstructed to restore their Victorian appearance. Inside they have been converted: at ground floor level into smart shops and restaurants; on the west side into offices; on the east into maisonettes and apartments. The former dock has been spanned by an arch raised on welded steel columns. At the centre of the arcade is a 60ft kinetic sculpture with moving parts, water jets and fountains. The passageway to Hay's Galleria has numerous arches with benches facing the east side of the Thames.
