The Royal Observatory Greenwich consists of four buildings: Flamsteed House, the Great Equatorial Building, the Altazimuth Building and the South Building. It is located on a hill inside Greenwich Park. The Royal Observatory was founded by Charles II in 1675 and is the home of the Prime Meridian - 0 Degrees Longitude, the Time Ball, the Onion Dome and the Octagon Room. Flamsteed House was designed by Sir Christopher Wren and contains many astronomical and time-keeping objects.
