The Oxo Tower has been a Thames-side landmark since the 1930s. Originally built in 1905, the distinctive OXO tower was added in 1928. By the late 1970s, the building had become disused and derelict then restored and re-opened by Coin Street Community Builders in 1996. Oxo Tower Wharf is a mixed-use building containing cafes, restaurants, retail design studios, and social housing. On its rooftop is the Oxo Tower Restaurant Bar and Brasserie and public viewing terrace. The residential area below consists of five floors of affordable housing association flats, a restaurant space on the second floor, and 33 design shops on the first and second floors. On the ground floor is EAT cafe, the Coin Street Exhibition and Information, oxo hairdressing, flower store, and the.gallery@oxo with a changing programme of exhibitions.
