Built in the 1990s, Croydon's main terminal East Croydon station is a busy modern intersection made of glass and steel and connecting the South Coast, Gatwick and London. Subways connect the six platforms with ramps leading down from the main ticket concourse. There are a variety of small shops, cafes and kiosks on platforms and the main concourse.
