Stoke Newington Town Hall
United Kingdom / London, England
Location ID: #10139592
Stoke Newington Town Hall was built in 1935-37. Designed in an English Renaissance style, the Grade II building was fitted out in Art Deco with two unique spaces: the Assembly Hall and Council Chamber. The Assembly Hall has an original sprung Canadian Maple dance floor, a stage and a large mirror ball. There is also a balcony and a bar adjacent to the hall. The Council Chamber retains many of its original features, including a beautiful domed ceiling, vaulted galleries, Australian walnut timber panelling and ornate gold cornicing. Leading up to the Chamber is an impressive Art Deco sweeping staircase.
