Northala Fields
United Kingdom / London, England
Location ID: #10140493
This new park includes everything from model boating and play areas to an amphitheatre. The park's most dramatic feature, its four overlapping conical mounds - the tallest measuring 26m - shield the park from noise and visual pollution from the adjacent A40. These strange looking manmade hills were constructed from the excavation and demolition materials of the old Wembley Stadium and the Westfield shopping development. This rejuvenated open space now forms an iconic landmark at one of the major London gateways.
