A central Shoreditch landmark, Rich Mix was converted in 2006 by Penoyre & Prasadhis from a former garment factory. The 62,000 square foot arts centre houses cinema screens, with tiered seating, cinema bar, fully-equipped and rigged main stage, black-box studio, office spaces, exhibition gallery space. Views across east London; and there is access via a lift (bypassing the public areas) from the basement to the rooftop which has views of several City landmarks. There is also a basement with tunnels and industrial areas, as well as a substantial loading bay. To the rear is a large, gated service yard. The exterior is made up of windows clad in large solar-powered shutters.
The events and operations teams regularly work alongside large film and tv production companies to turn the spaces into a variety of locations and sets, suitable for productions of all types, sizes and budgets.
