Grade I listed beautiful building designed by Nash in the early 1820s, with later additions by Decimus Burton. The exterior features large columns, a frieze on the northern facade, a cornice with balustrade and 19 cast iron flambeaux, which are still operational and can be lit in the evenings. The interior features a marble mosaic in the Inner Hall and a stunning Grand Staircase with a 15-foot Regency chandelier, which leads to seven function rooms with high ceilings, chandeliers, oil paintings. The Nash Room spans 3,000 square feet and has a large balcony facing onto the communal garden (licence required for use of garden). The Wine Bar is based in the one-time wine cellars with large iron gates (the original cellar doors) in the middle of the room. The Brasserie was once the site of the club's washrooms, and its tiles are listed. The Restaurant on the ground floor used to be a Smoking Room and is richly decorated, with dramatic Ionic columns and walls covered by gold leaf on linen. There are also some modern rooms in the Academy.
