Originally designed by Sir Charles Barry, the classical exterior with its stone pillar frontage, the entrance hall, grand staircase and library are surviving parts of his 1836 college building. The rest was rebuilt by Alner Hall after wartime bomb damage. Features and facilities include; large wood panelled exhibition hall; four medium-sized wood panelled board rooms; modern meeting rooms; old-style library with galleried second level; marble floor corridors; two modern audiotoriums; a mock hospital; anatomy museum [for more details, please see entry for Hunterian Museum]; accommodation block with conservatory bar and a restaurant.
