The museum is due to re-open in 2023. Behind the elegant facade of the Royal College of Surgeons building, the Hunterian Museum is a modern space housing a fascinating and thought-provoking collection. Set inside the Hunterian Museum, the MacRae Gallery combines fascinating and inspiring displays with accessible, modern and well-designed facilities. The Hunterian Museum was rebuilt in 1963 and a new museum was designed and re-opened to the public in 2005.
