Hotel Cafe Royal reopened in December 2012 with 159 luxurious and contemporary 21st Century rooms and suites, with Portland stone wall detailing, Italian leather sofas and Carrara marble bathrooms. The Grade II listed Pompadour, Grill and Domino Rooms have been restored to their 1860s and 1920s splendour. There is a range of places at which to eat and drink, including the casual elegance of The Brasserie and the sophistication of the Domino and Grill Rooms. New facilities inlcude the Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Centre with a pool and gym, a screening room, the Cafe Royal Club and Cafe 1865. The Grill Room, which features a champagne bar, has a ceiling in an ornate Louis XVI style with elaborate gold leaf detailing and enriched panelled mouldings. Gilt mirrors cover the wall giving a heightened sense of space. In the Domino Room guests dine under a sumptuous canopy of bold cartouches surrounding still life canvases of fruit, flowers and small birds. Cafe Royal offers a broad range of function and meeting rooms, from the historical Pompadour Suite to the state-of-the-art Boardroom with professional multi-media services. There is a balcony from the Pompadour Suite and some suites have wrought iron balconies. The Dome Suite has a terrace with views across central London,and an outdoor jacuzzi. The main driveway is in front of the hotel on Air Street and the entrance doors have copper detail. A light well from the ground to seventh floors in the middle of the building has frosted glass and copper detailing.
