Eventim Apollo
United Kingdom / London, England
Location ID: #10141949
The Apollo is known the world over for hosting live events for the biggest musicians and comedians in history. Opened in 1932 as the Gaumont Palace Cinema, it was designed in the Art Deco style by renowned theatre architect Robert Cromie, who also designed the Prince of Wales Theatre in central London. Having undergone a multi-million-pound restoration in 2013, its large auditorium and foyer bars are now back to their former Art Deco glory. In the 1960s it started hosting live music events and is now also able to cater for dining and award shows as well as music and comedy acts. Whilst many original features were restored in 2013, modern, top of the range LED colour change lighting and sound systems were also added across the venue.
