Location ID: #10142409

Monkey Hadley Common covers approximately 180 acres; unspoiled ancient woodland that was once part of the Royal Chase of Enfield with few anachronistic or intrusive features. The western end is fringed by 18th Century houses. The common includes a large lake, bounded by a small 18th Century retaining dam. Surrounding areas include a nature reserve, wetland and playing fields, giving an illusion of remoteness. The common is owned by trustees but made available subject to certain restrictions.
