In 2008 the Design Museum selected the former Commonwealth Institute building on Kensington High Street, West London, as its new home. The unique landmark from the 1960s, a Grade II* listed building was transformed by a design team led by John Pawson who made the building fit for a 21st Century museum. The museum now offers multiple spaces available for hire; from the dramatic, triple height Atrium to stylish dining spaces, versatile galleries and an auditorium. The Design Museum’s stunning architecture and contemporary interior is the perfect backdrop for shooting films, commercials and online content.
