The Stafford London - Wine Cellar
United Kingdom / London, England
Location ID: #10302713
Beneath The Stafford London lies a captivating story within the almost 400-year-old wine cellars, built in the 17th Century by Lord Francis Godolphin. Over the centuries, these cellars have served many purposes — from secret passageways reputedly leading to St. James’s Palace, to housing the famed Madame Prunier wine shipping company, and even acting as an air-raid shelter during World War II. Today, relics such as the last remaining casket and historic wine corking machinery are proudly displayed alongside artefacts left by American and Canadian officers.
Home to over 8,000 bottles of rare and prestigious wines, cognacs, and whiskies, the cellars provide a unique and atmospheric backdrop for private dining, exclusive events, bespoke wine tastings and filming.
