Description:
Founded in 1123, the Priory Church of St Bartholomew the Great is London's nearest thing to a Norman cathedral. Restoration of the church began in the 19th Century. Surviving parts of the original priory include a large Romanesque church, together with one section of the cloisters and a small crypt. The West Smithfield entrance has a stone archway with a Tudor-style house built over the top of it.
