Description:St Cyprian's Parish Church is world famous for its architectural brilliance, designed by Sir Ninian Comper. Built in 1903, it is a spacious, whitewashed church of beautiful proportions and restrained detail. The church is light, airy and spacious with a dazzling blaze of colour. There are outstanding acoustics. The atmosphere is tranquil, gentle, sometimes ethereal. The medieval-like interior is crowned by the gilded and fan-vaulted rood-screen and the high altar. There are cobbles on the Chagford Street side of the church. The nave is 22m wide and 26m long and the chairs are movable. There is a large crypt room with piano and a small crypt room - both of which are carpeted and heated.
