Description:The airport has a 'no filming'policy but projects are considered on a case by case basis. Opened in 1987, London City Airport is the only airport actually in London. A substantial upgrade was completed in 2008 with the construction of four new aircraft parking stands with a connecting pier and gate lounges was finished and the refurbishment of the airport's departure lounge. It is a business airport environment. Facilities available include; a small public concourse; a restaurant overlooking the water-filled dock; escalators; lifts; runway; aircraft; views from the departure lounge over runway. Passport control permitted when not in use. Baggage reclaim allow filming: there are two; one for domestic, one for international (domestic is the more possible and easily controllable space). ALWAYS NEED TO DO A RECCE FIRST. Free parking for units. Relevant uniforms can be sourced should productions request it.
General Notes:Please note that due to a £500m development programme (due for completion in 2023), the opportunities for commercial filming are vastly reduced. Each request will be treated on a case by case basis but it is recommended that you investigate alternatives. Content about terrorism or smuggling of items is rarely allowed.
