Description:2024: London Euston is undergoing a huge upgrade in relation to the HS2 programme so recces are recommended. Euston Station links the capital to the Midlands, the North West of England, and southern Scotland. The current Euston station was completely rebuilt between 1963 and 1968. The then state-of-the-art station opened in 1968, and consists of 18 platforms and a large concourse. It is characterised by its industrial look, with a textured concrete ceiling. Other features include a mezzanine overlooking the departure boards, corridors, tunnels, wide platforms. Outside the forecourt is home to several food retailers. Euston Station is perfect for a period shoot (1960s or later) and the platforms can double for a station anywhere in the world. Two Portland stone entrance lodges and the war memorial survive from the old station and are situated on Euston Road.
