Description:Trafalgar Square is one of the most iconic landmarks in London, where modern art meets Ancient Mariners. As a Grade I listed central London location with over 200 years' history, it provides a remarkable backdrop for filming and events. It provides fantastic views of Whitehall, the National Gallery, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament on the horizon. Named after Admiral Nelson's famous naval victory, Trafalgar Square is one of the largest pedestrianised areas in central London. The square is home to the impressively tall Nelson's column, flanked by Landseer's four bronze lions. The two decorative fountains help to set off the square with water movement. Of the four plinths surrounding the square, three hold bronze statues whilst the fourth is part of a rolling programme of modern art.
General Notes:As a listed site, some restrictions apply to the protection of the square.
