Description:Grade II listed building dating from c1580. Although badly damaged by fire, Lauderdale House is one of the few London mansions which retains in its entirety the original Tudor wooden framework. The house was re-opened to the public in 1978 as a community arts centre and is now a focal point for cultural and social activity in Highgate and surrounding areas. The Long Gallery has been refurbished and is used for exhibitions. Lauderdale House has been extended and modernised by successive owners over the centuries.
