Description:Earliest purpose built open air pool in London and one of the largest in Europe (300ft x 100ft). Surrounded by trees and situated on the local common. The outdoor pool is unheated and has a garden area for sunbathing and picnics and a cafeteria. Like the surrounding area, the pool was altered in the 1930s.. The dressing sheds were adapted as individual cubicles and new changing rooms with individual doors, seats and lavatories were installed. It has been modernised with a new foyer, a suite of jacuzzis and saunas.
