Description:Once owned by the Maryon Wilson Family, the former Lord of the Manor of Charlton, the Park is mainly tranquil woodland with open grass areas. Adjoining the park is the Charlton sand pit known as 'Gilbert's Pit'. This is a site of special scientific interest, it contains examples of the Blackheath, Thanet and Woolwich beds.
