Description:A large beautiful parish church, near the Thames, dating from the 16th Century, with substantial Victorian alterations. The interior comprises a large nave, with modern-portable pews, allowing for a huge space for concerts, large services, and also small groupings. The chancel has an impressive stained glass window. There are also two halls attached to the church, one room which can be secured separate from the church. Several significant sculptures / monuments from the 18th and 19th Centuries, including Lord Sidmouth [Prime Minister]. Mood depends on the light. Flint faced tower with floodlit cupola, flag pole, 8 bells and clock. Award winning picturesque churchyard. It was restored in the 1980s with many of its table tombs and grave markers still remaining. A medieval arch stands proudly in the main courtyard near numerous herbs, seats and yew trees.
