Description:
London Victoria has grown from the merging of two stations from different architectural periods - Edwardian and Victorian - in 1924. Since then, the station has been modernised and updated, with the original roof restored during recent years. Features include a busy concourse, a shopping centre and retail spaces. The station still retains the feel of two separate architectural styles and identities. The frontage building of the South Central shed is built in red brick and Portland stone in the Edwardian Baroque style. The frontage building of the South East Shed incorporates four caryatids supporting two broken pediments. Trains operating out of Victoria draw power from an electrical third rail.
