Description:
The building was built in the 1860s as a warehouse for storing natural ice imported from Norway. There's a view down into one of two preserved commerical ice wells from the ground floor. The decor is industrial with exposed brick walls and a fine pitched Victorian timber roof. It is located beside Battlebridge Basin on The Regent's Canal, with access to the wharf for arrival by boat. A museum since 1992, it is on two floors with a horse ramp to the first floor where the horses used to live There are two main galleries plus an education room and small offices as well as a colourful narrowboat.
