Description:
The House Mill is a Grade I tidal mill built in 1776 on an island in the River Lea. It is the largest existing tidal mill in the world. There are five floors of mill building, all accessible by lift. Timber-built, brick-faced. The building has been renovated and there is some machinery and original features remaining, including partial water wheels, grinding stones and ship's knees joints. The adjoining Miller's House has a cafe and two conference rooms.
