Description:Islington's largest open space, Highbury Fields is over 11 hectares big and opened as a public park in 1855. It is criss-crossed by avenues lined with plane trees, lit from cast-iron lampposts, and flanked by Victorian and Georgian terraces. The park's features include a children's playground, a large sand pit, water play feature, bandstand, cafe, wildlife area, an artificial turf floodlit football pitch, netball courts, and tennis courts.
