Description:
This rare and atmospheric 17th-century house sits on the banks of the Thames, with water meadows leading down to the river. Lavish interior with original highly decorated staircase, Verrio paintings, painted ceilings, ornate fireplaces, double-height hall and gallery, black and white marble floor, some Georgian furniture, tapestries and silk damasks, in-house chapel. Additional areas available for filming include the period kitchen, servants' rooms in basement and non-display rooms. The open and formal restored 17th-century gardens surround the house include a productive kitchen garden containing many heritage crops, the maze-like ‘Wilderness’, complete with summerhouses, and an orangery.
