Description:
Phoenix Yard was created in 2000 by architects Shepheard Epstein Hunter. Originally a country house built between 1674 and 1680, converted into a brewery in 1769 and latterly a workshop for the clothing industry. The building is an interesting mix of several different periods of construction and a rare example of an 18th Century building. Converted into architects' offices in 2000 with surplus office space being offered as flexible workspace. The building contains very old original timber columns and roof timbers as well as elaborate iron and steel elements of the structure, amazing walls, some dating back 300 years.
