Description:The chapel was built in 1827 as the chapel for the Licensed Victuallers' Asylum. The asylum was richly funded, hence the grand features of the chapel and expensive stained glass windows. During World War II, the chapel was bombed and lost its roof, and was also damaged by fire and hence the 'distressed' look of the walls. However many of its interesting features survived however, including the Italian marble memorial plaques and the lovely windows. The chapel has been largely empty since the war. It is currently in shell condition with a concrete floor and modern toilet facilities. There is one large room and a small front hall. It is set in extensive gardens.
