Description:
Shakespeare's Globe is a faithful reconstruction of the theatre as it was in Jacobean times. The iconic stage and building are open to the elements and it has the only thatched roof in London. As well as the Globe Theatre, the venue has multiple other interesting spaces to film in, including lecture theatres, education studios and the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, the indoor theatre which opened in January 2014 and is entirely lit by hundreds of beeswax candles. The theatre was designed as an ‘archetype’ of London’s early modern indoor playhouses. The Underglobe is a versatile and atmospheric event space right under the Globe Theatre which can be used for commercial filming of performances, presentations, receptions, award ceremonies, dinners and any other type of event.
