Description:
Tucked away in a quiet square in the heart of the City, the current Brewers' Hall was completed in 1960 and designed by Sir Hubert Worthington, RA. From the ground floor marble lobby, an oak staircase leads to a circular reception area on the first floor, also served by a lift. The function suite consists of three interconnecting rooms: the Livery Hall, the Court Room and the Committee Room. The elegant Livery Hall (44ft x 23ft) is panelled in English oak with hand carved architraves to the doors and windows. The Company's Silver is on display beneath the Company's Arms. Three fine chandeliers hang from the ceiling, which has a plasterwork band of hop leaves and barley. The Court Room (28ft x 23ft) is panelled in pine and has a delicately moulded ceiling. The fireplace of Verona marble has a Carrara panel of infant Bacchanals. The Committee Room (12ft x 18ft) can be as an informal television studio for interviews.
